Urgent Appointments with the Duty Doctor

9am-10am Mon -Friday

We want to deliver a high quality, responsive, safe, caring service for all our patients and in order to provide this we need your help.

We offer on-the-day appointments to patients who need to see a doctor urgently.

These clinics are intended for patients with acute conditions that need urgent medical attention.

Examples of such conditions might include, but are not confined to

*chest pain,

*unwell babies and small children

*sudden onset of severe pain.

*breathing difficulties,

*unexpected bleeding

*sudden onset of visual disturbance

If you have a problem which has been troubling you for a little while and you do not think poses an immediate risk to your health, then please consider carefully whether an urgent surgery appointment is appropriate for you today.

Urgent surgery appointments should not be used for routine procedures such as blood tests, blood pressure checks, reviews of tests results, scans or x-rays, cervical smear, pill checks, medication reviews, NHS healthcare checks.

Urgent surgery patients will be seen by the duty doctor: if you wish to see a particular GP, please make an appointment to see them in one of their surgeries.

The duty doctor may be male or female.

If you need to see a doctor urgently, please see the receptionist.
