Newcastle University Medical Students

At The Croft Surgery we are committed to helping train the doctors of the future.

For this reason we are actively involved in both GP training and medical student training.

On 22nd, 23rd and 28th June we will have two medical students shadowing the GPs and nursing staff.

From 3rd – 21st June we will have a 4th year medical student based at the practice.

From September – December 2019 we will have 3rd year and 5th year medical students based at the practice.

The students will spend time shadowing GPs and nurses, but will also see patients in their own clinics.

Student clinic appointments will be slightly longer.

The medical student will consult with the patient first, before one of the GPs will see the patient.

This is a great experience for the medical students and really helps them to develop their consulting skills.

We are very grateful to you for helping in this training process. However, if you do not wish to be seen by one of the medical students then please let Reception know either at the time of booking your appointment, or when you attend your appointment. Reception will then make the GP aware.
