Kirkbride Surgery – Flu Clinics 2019

This year our three flu clinics will be held as follows:

Kirkbride Village Hall Saturday 5th October 9-12

Kirkbampton Village Hall Wednesday 9th October 9-12

Port Carlisle, The Bowling Club Wednesday 16th October  9-12

We urge all eligible patients, (those over 65 years and those under this age but with underlying long term health conditions, as well as pregnant ladies and carers) to attend one of these sessions.

We will also be offering shingles vaccinations and pneumococcal vaccines to those patients who are eligible.

The nurses and doctors will be carrying out pulse checks to patients aged over 65 years, as this is a good opportunity to identify patients with undiagnosed atrial fibrillation. Where an irregular pulse is suspected or identified, patients will be asked to make an appointment at the surgery for a more detailed consultation and further investigations. This is all part of our aim to improve healthcare for our patients.

Please contact us here at the surgery if you have any questions about this.

These clinics are popular sessions, please be prepared for a short wait. We will be using a queue management system to try and minimise the difficulties that a drop-in session can generate and we are grateful for your patience.

The supply of vaccines to practices has been organised differently this year and we do not anticipate supply problems affecting our clinics.

Our Patient Participation group support these clinics and teas and coffees will be available.
