Reallocation of Patients

Following Dr Swan’s retirement, her patients have been moved onto the list of another of the GP practice partners.

Patients with surnames A-L have been moved to Dr Smith’s lists

Patients with surnames M-Z have been moved to Dr Hewson’s.

In practical terms this makes no difference; patients can book appointments with any of the GPs  – with the exception of on-the-day urgent appointments. These urgent patients will always be seen/triaged by the on-call duty GP.
Thank you for your understanding with this matter.

Message from Elspeth Swan

Dear Patients and friends of The Croft surgery

I have been overwhelmed with the good wishes, gifts and expressions and thanks on the occasion of my retirement from The Croft Surgery. Thank you everyone.

I have found it humbling that so many of you have appreciated my efforts and presence.

24 years has been a big chunk of my life and I feel privileged to have spent it working in such a great community and for such a solid and caring GP practice.

I have been honoured to share parts of many of your lives and as I have said to many, I have often wished that I had ben able to use my magic wand to make everything better for everyone.

I wish the team that I leave behind my kindest wishes and know that they will continue to provide the best care that they can.

Wishing you all the very best, with my love and deepest gratitude,

Elspeth Swan

Retirement of Dr Swan

We are sure that all our patients will join the doctors, nurses and practice staff , past and present in wishing Dr Elspeth Swan a long and happy retirement as she leaves us today after 24 years as a practice partner, popular GP and friend to many.

RETIREMENT OF TRUSTEE OF THE FRIENDS OF KIRKBRIDE SURGERY FUND.

After 32 years as a trustee of the fund, Mrs Mary Little has decided to step down from her role.

We are so grateful to her for her support, dedication and quiet professionalism in ensuring that donations to the fund have been acknowledged gratefully and that the monies have been used appropriately to provide equipment for the surgery to provide care beyond the expected norm.

Mary has worked with George Hill, the other trustee, for all this time. Recently they have been joined by Mrs Ann Kirk, and George and George and Ann will continue to administer the fund as trustees.

The fund has provided a wide range of equipment for the surgery and community use; we were one of the first surgeries to have defibrillators for all the doctors, we have great mechanical examination couches  that go up and down to help patients get on and off them, we have emergency oxygen – and countless other useful and helpful tools for our trade.

We continue to be grateful to our patients and their families for donations to the fund and at this moment we are taking the opportunity of publically thanking Mary, on behalf of The Croft Surgery, with heartfelt gratitude for her years of service
