Autumn Newsletter

a round-up of the latest staff news and notices about new things happening at The Croft Surgery and changes to our services.

National GP patient survey

A recent survey has been done, and The Croft Surgery scored 105 out of 6418 GP surgeries across England!!

Patient Participation Group

This is a group of our patients who meet twice a year and feed back any concerns or praise to the surgery. They also offer any help that is needed e.g. supporting at vaccine clinics. They are looking for new members. If you are interested please let us know and we will pass on your details.

e-consult

We have a new way of requesting an appointment or raising any queries. Simply go onto our website and click ‘consult with your Doctor’. Your request will be sent through to your patient record and a member of staff will contact you within 48 hours. This service should not be used for any urgent enquiries.

Think Pharmacy

If you come to the surgery with any of the following conditions, you may be referred to a local pharmacy. This is part of the Common Ailment scheme, which is trying to help free up some GP appointments.

• Urine tract infection

• Thrush

• Skin reaction

• Constipation

• Hay fever

• Bites and stings

Flu Clinics

if you haven’t already had your flu vaccine, please contact us at the surgery to get booked in to one of our clinics.

We will not be doing any more COVID-19 vaccines here at the surgery. If you are wanting yours this year, you can book this by calling 119 or going online and booking it through the NHS website.

Trying to be a Net Zero Greener Practice

We are doing this by trying to not print as much, meaning less paper waste.

We have installed a new heating system, which is using less energy.

We are also trying to switch patients onto dry powder inhalers that are breath activated, and reduce carbon emissions which is better for the planet.

Urgent Appointments

We are getting increasing demand for urgent appointments. We ask everyone to request these for urgent matters only. Where the doctor feels a request can be dealt with in another manner, this will be communicated to you e.g. by text. This is to try deal with as many people as we possibly can. We are grateful for your assistance in providing a fair service for all our patients.

Staff Changes

We have said a very sad goodbye to Dr Pearce, Nurse Sue Clark and also Nurse Debra Williams. They have all now retired and will missed by the team.

We would like to welcome Bethany our newest reception/admin staff member to the team.

Razan Atassi is our virtual pharmacist. She helps us out by carrying out pharmacist reviews with patients by telephone and can offer advice about safe use of medications.

Prescriptions

Please allow 2/3 working days to collect your prescriptions after ordering. We are having some supply issues with certain drugs at the moment, resulting in the dispensary taking a little longer to complete some prescriptions. If you get your prescriptions delivered by us please be aware there will be no delivery on Wednesday 28th December.
